How can I stop getting notification emails?

General

By default all users that have access to the prospect will receive the notification emails; however, users can choose not to receive the emails by clicking the View More link in the notifications block on the home page to go to the Notifications Dashboard and then clicking Settings at the top right. Also, the notification emails themselves contain a link that will take them directly to the Notifications Dashboard.

How do I change the invoice format?

Accounting

You can change which line items are generated from your timesheets when creating Invoices in Landboss by changing the invoice format Client setting. There are several standard formats, but we can easily build custom formats for you. To change the invoice format for your client, follow these directions:

  1. Click Administration
  2. Under the General section, click Clients
  3. Select the client
  4. Click the Accounting Setup tab
  5. Select the format that you would like to use from the Invoice Format drop down list and click Save

Note: The selected format will be used for all new invoices, but you can apply it to existing invoices by clicking the Recalculate button on the View Invoice page.

How do I generate payroll?

Accounting

Generating payroll is a snap.

  1. Click Accounting at the top of the page
  2. Click Payroll
  3. Then go to the upper right hand corner and click Generate Paychecks
  4. Make your choices from the available options and click Generate Payroll

Note: You can only generate payroll for users that are contractors.

How do I create an Invoice?

Follow these short steps to create Invoices.

  1. Click Accounting at the top of the page
  2. Then go to the upper right hand corner and click the Create Invoice button
  3. Select the prospect you would like to create invoices for
  4. Enter the invoice terms and other information
  5. Select the timesheets that you would like to Invoice you client for and click Create Invoice

How do I enter my time and expenses?

Timesheets

Entering your time is fast and simple. Just follow these steps.

  1. Click the “TIMESHEETS” tab at the top of the page
  2. The click the Enter Time button located at the top right
  3. Select the Prospect that you are working in and click Add Entry
  4. On the window that opens, fill out the fields and attach receipts

Note: Allowed extensions for time entry attachments are .tif, .tiff, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, and .png.

Why can't I find the tract/lease/party that I entered?

General

Since Landboss saves the last search settings that you used on the Tract Search, Lease Search, and Party Search screens, it is sometimes possible to overlook previously entered search terms. To ensure that you are starting from a blank search form, before searching, you can click the reset link that is right next to the search button.

Which browsers can be used to access Landboss?

General

You can access Landboss on any operating system using the following browsers:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 & 8 (IE 9 can be used in compatibility mode)
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Google Chrome
  • Apple Safari

Note: The QuickBooks integration feature can only be used with Internet Explorer.

How do I uninstall or reinstall the Landboss QuickBooks Exporter?

If you would like to discontinue using the Landboss QuickBooks Exporter, you can follow these steps to remove it from your computer:

  1. Close your browser
  2. Go to add/remove programs
  3. Highlight “LANDBOSS QuickBooks Exporter” and click uninstall

Occasionally, we make changes to the Landboss QuickBooks Exporter and when we do, you'll need to reinstall the Exporter so you will have the most recent version on your computer. First, follow the steps for uninstalling and then to reinstall:

  1. Open your browser
  2. Login to your Landboss account
  3. Try exporting again and you will be prompted to reinstall the Exporter

How do I add or remove user licenses?

Anytime you need to purchase additional user licenses or remove some from your account so you will no longer be billed for them, simply contact us and we'll quickly fulfill your request.

What should be done when an employee leaves the company?

Administration

To prevent the employee from logging into Landboss and to free up the license that is being used by that employee's User account, go to Administration -> Users. Once on the Choose Users screen, click the light bulb icon for that User to deactivate it. If the User is deactivated the light bulb should be gray.

Note: Once the User has been deactivated, the license that the User was using is available for use by a new User. If the license is no longer needed, contact us and we'll remove it from your account.

Warning: It is NOT recommended to "re-purpose" an old User account for a new employee. When users create and modify things like Tracts or Leases, add Activity Entries, add Time and Expenses, etc., Landboss links the activity to the User account. The current name of the User is not saved with the link, so if a User account is "re-purposed" then all of the things that the previous employee entered, will be shown as being entered by the new employee.
